Who doesn't know the legendary compilations which are nowadays called "classics" which were compiled by Garry Bushell in the early 80ies? It all started with "Oi! The Album" (1980), followed by "Strength Thru Oi!" (1981), "Carry On Oi!" (1981) and "Oi! Oi! That's Yer Lot" in 1982. Most of the bands which were featured on those albums for the first time are world-famous now.
Today, 30 years after those milestones of the punk music , "Oi! Never Surrender" is the next in line of Garry Bushells compilations. You can say: the godfather of Oi! did it again! Gal Gonad, in cooperation with Contra Records, proudly presents his favourite songs of the last 3 decades of Oi! and a lot of recent upstarting bands. The "new breed" meets the old bastards - and - Oi! is not a British phenomenon anymore, it's a worldwide movement! Brixen-based Youngsters, founded in 2004, with their second full length. It contains 13 belligerent street rock tunes with that distinct Boot Boy feel. Strong mid tempo stuff with well done rockin' guitars, drivin' drums and uncompromising lyrics (in german) about Rebellion, Liberty, Pride and Self-Confidence. You can even hear a strong ballad and a non-pathetic Love song. UNANTASTBAR (means UNIMPEACHABLE) remind some times on early DAILY TERROR (classic german punk outfit from the 80's), especially for the snotty vocals. Touring across the globe since starting out in 1997, one of Europe’s finest hardcore bands NO TURNING BACK gives the term DIY a whole new dimension. Releasing over seven renown hardcore records all over the world on countless labels for the last fifteen years, the band is a household name in today’s world wide hardcore scene with their blend of the old school NYHC groove, fast breaks and massive sing a longs anthems. And now NO TURNING BACK is here to introduce their latest addition to their impressive catalogue: their new record No Regrets . This eleven song full length record is their seventh full length out soon on their own label Take Control Records.
So what can we expect this new record to consist of?
Guitar player Emiel Laurant states: “We decided that it was time for something new and we heard great material from a studio in Berlin, Dailyhero Recordings. We joined forces with them and co-produced the record last July. The turnout is fantastic. We recorded 11 songs with the total length of 18 minutes, a true hardcore record with the perfect mix of fifteen years NTB history.” Singer Martijn van den Heuvel adds: “We have our own distinct NO TURNING BACK sound, which has grown throughout the last fifteen years. This record has got the best of all the previous releases combined. It consists of the groove from Damage Done, the breaks from Revenge Is A Right, the punk from Rise From The Ashes and the aggression from Stronger. Put that in a blender and you get seventeen minutes of pure hardcore. With two new members, Michiel and Nik, there is new blood in the band and they
have got a fresh and hungry take on how things should sound. They helped us taking the band to the next level and it triggered us to step it up a notch. It's great to see how everything went so smooth and how everyone worked together as a family when we were finally recording in Berlin.”
No Regrets is a smashing and passionate record which reflects on being involved within the hardcore scene for over fifteen years. Still having the same aggressive yet positive state of mind, still there for your friends and family, still living life as if each day could be your last, and never giving up. As a follow up of the very succesfull “Worldwide tribute to the real oi!” albums, Roger and Onno now compiled a sampler with the scene’s best bands around today going back to their roots and covering the songs of their youth. This time the bands were free to choose whatever song they wanted to cover and were not restricted to a genre or a style.
The result is an impressive tracklist with a great variety of songs and is combining the best of hardcore, punk, oi!, rock, rock n roll and a shot of metal.

The CD comes with an impressive 36 (!) page full-colour booklet with bandpictures, info and a story from each band about the song they chose to cover.

As a follow up of the very succesfull “Worldwide tribute to the real oi!” albums, Roger and Onno now compiled a sampler with the scene’s best bands around today going back to their roots and covering the songs of their youth. This time the bands were free to choose whatever song they wanted to cover and were not restricted to a genre or a style.
The result is an impressive tracklist with a great variety of songs and is combining the best of hardcore, punk, oi!, rock, rock n roll and a shot of metal.
The CD comes with an impressive 36 (!) page full-colour booklet with bandpictures, info and a story from each band about the song they chose to cover.
